Jalappa who is well known for his philanthropic activities more than as an astute politician. Under his mentorship and generous donation by way of financial contribution the Trust has made significant contribution in aptitude-based skill enhancement to the rural youth of Karnataka. It was the unanimous opinion of all the Trustees that this Trust be named after the mentor and thus "R.L. JALAPPA ACADEMY" came into being to fulfil the vision.
